"Bee Gee estate in Miami Beach changes hands"

A waterfront estate owned by the widow of Bee Gee Maurice Gibb has sold for $17 million, or $1,264 per square foot. The original list price was $19.9 million. The residence at 30 La Gorce Circle in Miami Beach was built in 1953 and has 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms on 13,447 square feet of living area. The 53,374-square-foot lot has more than 300 feet of water frontage.

The sellers were Yvonne Gibb individually and Yvonne Gibb, Adam Gibb, Samantha Gibb, Arnold J. Gitomer and Colonial Bank as co-trustees of the Yvonne Gibb Qualified Domestic Trust. The new owners are George and Betsy Sherman. George is the former chairman of Campbell's Soup. He was also an executive with Black and Decker and president and CEO of Danaher Corp. Previous sales for the property include one in August 2002 for $7 million. Jeri Jenkins of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate handled the sale. The property was on the market for eight months.
