  • Grammy Awards - At the 45th Grammy Award ceremony held at the Madison Square Garden in New York, Robin and Barry Gibb were presented the Legend Award. Ed Bradley, from CBS, introduced the boy band 'N Sync that sang an a cappella medley of Bee Gees hits.  Then Bradley presented the Legend Award to Barry and Robin Gibb, who received a standing ovation when they walked on stage. They then invited Maurice Gibb’s son Adam on stage to accept the award on his father's behalf. (February 23)
  • World Awards - The 4th annual World Awards honours the Bee Gees with the World Artist Award For Lifetime Achievement for their life's work as artists. Robin Gibb accepts the prize on behalf of the Bee Gees [Hamburg, Germany, October 22]
  • Unesco's Pyramide Children Award - Award for Robin Gibb for his Contribution to Unesco's Projects For Children. He performs solo and Bee Gees songs at the gala. [Dusseldorf, Germany, November 8]

  • Doctorate in Music from Manchester University: Robin and Barry Gibb were at the University of Manchester to accept degrees making them doctors of music. They accepted a posthumous honorary degree from the university chancellor Anna Ford on behalf of their brother Maurice.(May 12)
  • Saturday Night Fever was one of the 14 albums inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
  • Stayin Alive in the Top Ten [#9) both in AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs and in Capitol Gold's Most Popular Songs in Britain.
  • New South Wales Premier Bob Carr unveiled a plaque to honour the Gibb brothers stay in Maroubra between 1963 and 1966.(May)
  • Oakwood High School, Chorlton: Robin and Barry Gibb visited Chorlton High School on Wednesday  to officially open the school's new Recording Studio, named the "Maurice Gibb Recording Studio" in memory of their late brother Maurice Gibb. (May 12)
  • Bee Gees made CBEs: In the 2001 New Year's Honours List the Bee Gees were recognized CBEs (Commanders of the British Empire). Work commitments and Barry's fear of flying post September 11 led to delays in receiving the award. The ceremony was finally held in 2004 at Buckingham Palace in London; Prince Charles made the surviving members of the Bee Gees -- Barry and Robin Gibb -- Commanders of the Order of the British Empire. Late member Maurice's son, Adam, received the award on his father's behalf. (May 27)

  • Sarasota Film Festival - Excellence in Music and Film Award. Barry Gibb was to be honored at the Sarasota Film Festival's opening gala with the festival's Excellence in Music and Film Award. Barry could not attend the gala due to a family member's health problem (January 28).

  • Legal Symposium on the World of Music, Film & Television: Barry Gibb was presented the 2004 Tom Dowd Excellence in the Arts Award at the The Eden Roc Renaissance Resort & Hotel in Miami Beach (April 1).

  • The City of North Miami - Barry Gibb was officially welcomed back to the city of North Miami by councilman Scott Galvin, who presented Barry with a commemorative sign for Brothers Gibb Boulevard, a section of NE 18th Avenue in North Miami that had been renamed last year for Barry, Robin and Maurice. Brothers Gibb Boulevard runs directly in front of The Hit Factory Criteria. (April 22)
  • Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) - Robin Gibb received a Rock And Roll diploma from Paul McCartney  at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) in England. McCartney told Robin he deserved the honorary companionship - the equivalent of an honorary degree - because he belongs to a band which is ranked sixth on the all-time top sellers list, and is the only act in history to write, produce and record six consecutive hit singles (July 28).
  • Star on London's Walk Of Fame: On September 18, Robin, on behalf of the Bee Gees was awarded a star on the Walk of Fame in London's Covent Garden.
  • Induction into the Dance Music Hall of Fame (September 20).
  • Q - Lifetime achievement award. Robin Gibb received the award at the ceremony held at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London. He dedicated the award to Maurice. Barry said his piece by satallite from Miami Beach (October 10).

  • 51st Ivor Novello Awards - Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb were honored with the Academy Fellowship at the 51st annual Ivor Novello Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The Bee Gees are the 9th recipients of this award in 51 years. When inducted, Robin and Barry Gibb paid particular tribute to their former manager Robert Stigwood, who made a rare public appearance at the event, during their acceptance speeches. (May 25)

Maurice Gibb Memorial Park

  • The city of Miami Beach honoured honor the late Maurice Gibb naming a park Maurice Gibb Memorial Park after him. In April 2003 a commissioner had proposed a memorial in the form of a bench and naming of an area of the park in honour of Maurice, but finally the family proposed the park to be renamed Maurice Gibb Memorial Park. The question had to be put on the ballot for the November 4 election and was approved by Miami people. After several delays, the dedication ceremony took place in 2007. Maurice's family, mother Barbara and brothers Barry and Robin attended the ceremony. Also Mayor David Dermer and lots of friends and fans were there. (March 4)
  • BMI - The brothers Gibb were honored as BMI Icons at BMI's 55th Annual Pop Awards. Accepting the awards were Barry and Robin Gibb, and Yvonne Gibb, wife of the late Maurice Gibb. The tribute saw American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee perform 'Immortality,' Bebe Winans singing a medley of 'Nights on Broadway' and 'How Deep Is Your Love' and Kelly Rowland performing 'Emotion.' (May 15)
