 Accolades keep on coming for Maurice.

Maurice Gibb Memorial Park (2003-2007)
In November 2003 Miami citizens approved the renaming of Island View Park the Maurice Gibb Memorial Park. In April a commissioner had proposed a memorial in the form of a bench and naming of an area of the park in honour of Maurice, but finally the family proposed the park to be renamed Maurice Gibb Memorial Park. The question had to be put on the ballot (Read more) for the November 4 election and was approved by Miami people.
The naming ceremony finally took place March 4 2007. Read more


Grammy Award (February 2003)
The Bee Gees were honored with this year's Grammy Legend Award. Robin and Barry Gibb gave the Legend's Award presented to the Bee Gees to Adam Gibb, the son of their late brother, Maurice. They invited Maurice Gibb’s son Adam on stage to accept the award. Read more
Brothers Gibb Boulevard (August 2003)
Part of the Northeast 18th Avenue in Miami renamed Brothers Gibb Boulevard. The connection between NE 18th Av and the Bee Gees is the Criteria studios, which are located there. Some of the best known Bee Gees songs were recorded at Criteria, where the Bee Gees made Main course (1975), Children of the world (1976) and Spirits having flown (1979). Read more
Maurice Gibb Recording Studio (May 2004)
On May 12, 2004, Barry and Robin Gibb opened a recording studio at Oakwood High in Chorlton-cum-Hardy (Manchester, England) named in honour of Maurice Gibb. Read more.
Honorary doctorate in Music (May 2004)
On May 12, 2004, Barry and Robin Gibb received honorary doctorates in Music from Manchester University. They also accepted a posthumous honorary degree on behalf of their brother Maurice.  Read more
CBE (May 2004)
During an emotional ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London, Prince Charles made the surviving members of the Bee Gees -- Barry and Robin Gibb -- Commanders of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE. Late member Maurice's son, Adam, received the award on his father's behalf. Read more.
BMI Icons (May 2007)
The brothers Gibb were honored as BMI Icons for their “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.” Accepting the awards were Barry and Robin Gibb, and Yvonne Gibb, wife of the late Maurice Gibb. The tribute saw American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee perform “Immortality,” Bebe Winans singing a medley of “Nights on Broadway” and “How Deep Is Your Love” and Kelly Rowland performing “Emotion.” Read more

Bee Gees honoured in London with Heritage Fundation's green plaque at 67 Brook Street in London.  Read more

Robin Gibb received the  on behalf of the Bee Gees at the World Awards ceremony held in Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday, Oct. 22 2003. 
January 2004: Grammy Hall of Fame
Saturday Night Fever inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
September 2004: Dance Music Hall of Fame
September 20th the Bee Gees inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.

September 2005: Walk of Fame
Robin, on behalf of the Bee Gees, awarded a star on the Walk of Fame in London's Covent Garden

May 2006: Academy Fellowship
Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb honored with the Academy Fellowship at the 51st annual Ivor Novello Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Read more
